Italy: Electoral agreement to create a ‘central pole’ ahead of parliamentary elections on September 25

Carlo Calenda, leader of the “Azione” (Action) party, and former Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, leader of the “Living Italy” party, today signed an agreement for a joint descent into the September 25 parliamentary elections.

“Today a serious alternative is born to the bipolar system of left and right, which has destroyed our country and deprived the necessary confidence in the Draghi government,” tweeted Carlo Calenda.

“We decided to try it. On September 25, in the ballots, you will find this possibility too. Do not limit yourself to the “less than optimal”, send people of known quality to the parliament”, added Matteo Renzi, always online.

According to the first information, Carlo Calenda will take the brunt of the election campaign, while this new centrist pole aims to win up to 10% of the vote.

It is recalled that last Sunday “Azione” decided to cancel the programming agreement it had signed with the Democratic Party, due to the incompatibility of many of its positions with those of the center-left alliance.
