An explosion occurred at a refinery in the Tuscan city of Livorno in central Italy.
The refinery is owned by the Italian Hydrocarbon Company Eni and at this time a cloud of black smoke has covered much of the area.

Local authorities and Civil Protection asked residents to stay in their homes and keep their windows closed. No injuries have been reported so far.
Firefighters, however, according to the information so far, have brought under control the fire that broke out inside the refinery.
