Italy, France, Sweden offer assistance to Germany for the treatment of patients from German hospitals

Germany has received assistance from Italy, France and Sweden to address the problem of overburdening the health system in many states.

According to Der Spiegel, the three countries have offered to treat patients from Baden-Württemberg, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland. Negotiations are taking place between the German Armed Forces, which have taken over the airlift, and the respective military structures of the other countries. According to the magazine, a week ago, Portugal had, in a letter to the Minister of Defense, Annegret Krab-Karenbauer, offered to send intensivists to Germany, in return for sending a team of military doctors from Germany to Lisbon last year. Similarly, Germany had taken care of many Italians at the beginning of the pandemic.
