Greece is again this year the first foreign destination in the preferences of Italians for their summer holidays. According to the Italian Tourist Association Confturismo and the Trade Association Confcommercio, our country is in first place, Spain in second and France in third.
In total, 28 million Italians will go on vacation this year. 20% abroad, and 80% within national borders.
Regarding the various regions of the country, the first choice for tourists is Apulia, with Bari as its capital, followed by Sicily, Tuscany, Sardinia and Calabria.
According to the forecasts, tourist traffic, as a whole, in Italy this year is going to reach the level of 2019 and there are, in fact, several chances that even more positive figures will emerge.
73% of citizens who will go on vacation in July have already made the relevant reservation, while for August the relative percentage is at 65%.
