Italy: “In June we will give the free shot to the coronavirus”

The last twenty-four hours in Italy coronavirus deaths are 93 and cases are 2,493. Yesterday the death toll was 82, with 1,820 infections. In total, 221,818 diagnostic tests were performed, 1.1% of which were positive. Yesterday, the corresponding percentage was 2.1%.

After seven months, there are less than 1,000 patients with covid 19. in the intensive care units of the country. In the ICU, the patients with coronavirus, compared to yesterday, are 44 less, while in the hospital wards are 290 less. Since the beginning of the pandemic, in Italy the cases are 4,220,304 and the death toll is 126,221.

Most daily cases are recorded in Lombardy (461), followed by Campania (375) with Naples as its capital and the island of Sicily (326).

Regarding the security and prevention measures during the summer, the Italian government clarified that at least until July 31, at each table of cafes and restaurants will not be able to sit more than four customers. Initially, it was leaked that no relevant restrictions would apply. Only relatives who live together will be able to sit at larger tables.

“In June we will give the free shot to Covid 19. By the end of the month we will receive more than 20 million vaccines,” said in the meantime the special commissioner for the implementation of the vaccination program, General Francesco Filiuolo. Within the next week, the centers for their administration coronavirus vaccines, across the country, are expected to increase by 30%.

In total, 34,470,841 million doses have been administered so far and 20.03% of the population (11,871,163 citizens) have completed their vaccination cycle.
