The Research Center of the Italian Association of Industrialists Confindustria announced that in April, industrial production fell, on a monthly basis, by 2.5%.
The main reason, according to the Italian media, is the consequences of the war in Ukraine. A decrease of 2% was recorded in March, while in February, on the contrary, there was an increase of 4%. “The forecasts and the general feeling of the entrepreneurs do not allow to show significant improvements, at least in terms of the near future”, underlines the Center for Studies of the Italian Association of Industrialists.
As for the first quarter of 2022, Confindustria estimates that, as a whole, the country’s industrial production decreased by 1.6%, compared to the last quarter of last year.
Regarding the period April-June, finally, if the current data do not change, the reduction, for Italian industrialists, may reach 2.5%.
