Italy: Masks are mandatory in some indoor areas until June 15

According to the Italian press, with a decision to be signed tonight, the country’s Minister of Health Roberto Speranza will define the new rules regarding the use of a protective mask indoors.

Until June 15, the masks will remain mandatory in hospitals, urban transport, cinemas, theaters and indoor sports facilities.

According to the newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore, there will be no restrictions on access to commercial enterprises. And in stadiums, cafes and restaurants, the use of a mask will not be required from May Day.

As far as workplaces are concerned, any change in the rules will be regulated by protocols from employers and trade unions.

“We recommend the use of a protective mask until June 15, in all cases where there is overcrowding,” said the Italian Minister of Health.

In schools, finally, according to the country’s media, the mask will not be removed until the end of classes. It remains mandatory for teachers, administrators and students, from six years and up.
