The prosecutor’s office in Milan is said to be ready, according to the Italian press, to request the impeachment of “influencer” Chiara Ferrani, on the charge of fraud. The whole case concerns investigations into possible misleading advertising, regarding sales of the traditional Italian dessert “Pandoro” and Easter eggs, in 2021 and 2022. The influencer’s defense attorneys announced that “Chiara Ferrani has confidence in justice and that the her innocence will be clearly established as soon as possible.” According to the Milan prosecutor’s office, however, the investigations revealed that “there was a series of misleading, advertising messages aimed at causing confusion among consumers, between the purchase of products and initiatives of a charitable nature.” The newspaper Corriere della Sera writes that the profits secured in this way reportedly reach 2.2 million euros.
