The Senate of Rome approved with 219 votes in favor, 20 against and 22 abstentions, the resolution of the forces supporting the Draghi government, its line on the Ukrainian issue and the overall position of the Italian Prime Minister in view of next Thursday’s European summit.
The resolution calls on the government of Rome to inform and cooperate with the parliament regarding the country’s participation in the main international conferences and meetings, as well as the supply of weapons to Ukraine.
Thanks to this compromise, as the Italian commentators point out, the positions of the central forces supporting the Draghi government could be reconciled with those of the Five Star movement, which in recent days had called for a major emphasis on diplomatic initiatives to resolve of Ukrainian.
