“The leaders of the coalition have agreed that Silvio Berlusconi is the right person to take on this high office in these difficult times,” their leaders said after a meeting at Berlusconi’s villa in Rome.
The parties that support him are the League, the Brothers of Italy and the Forza Italia of Berlusconi himself, which will work to build “broad support” for him among the MPs who will start voting for his next leader. State on January 24.
