She was not elected to the Italian parliament, in the electoral district of Lazio, where the 95-year-old legendary actress Gina Lollobrigida was a candidate with Marco Rizzo’s Communist Party.
With almost all the votes counted, “Lolo” collects just over 1% in the province of Latina, also known as the “city of the Duce”, located south of Rome – and in the neighboring province of Frosinone, which belong to the region of Lazio.
The winner of the election and possibly next prime minister of the country, Georgia Melonihas gathered a large percentage of votes in this region.
Lollobridgeta had failed to be elected to parliament and in 1999 she was a candidate again. Her lawyer Antonio Ingroya stated that the veteran actress has full clarity despite her recent legal adventures over her property, when her judgment had been questioned.
