In case of worsening of the situation, Italy can take new measures to deal with the pandemic coronavirus and other respiratory diseases such as influenza.
The Italian Ministry of Health is studying new measures, which may be implemented in the event of a new outbreak of the pandemic coronavirus and the increase in cases, as far as diseases of the respiratory system are concerned.
As reported by Italian media, the Ministry of Health, in its internal circular, writes that some of the measures that may be implemented – if deemed necessary – it is the mandatory use of the mask in closed spaces, the increase of teleworking, the reduction of events that produce overcrowding. At the same time, reference is made to the administration of a fourth dose of the vaccine against the coronavirus, to the entire population, and to a fifth dose for the high-risk categories of citizens.
The circular also states that also at the regional level, the competent structures should strengthen, if necessary, the provision of health care. It is recalled that at this stage, in Italy, the use of a protective mask is mandatory only for employees and visitors of hospitals and nursing homes.
