Italy white zone from 1st June. Friuli Venezia Giulia, Molise and Sardinia begin

From June the white zone returns for some regions. The June 1st it will be the turn of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Molise and Sardinia, while Abruzzo, Veneto and Liguria will pass in the white zone the following week, from Monday 7 June. The rest of the country is expected to arrive in the lower-risk zone by the end of next month.

The requirement is to stay under 50 cases of coronavirus per 100 thousand inhabitants for three consecutive weeks. White zone means no curfew e early reopening economic and social activities (including discos and weddings) but the obligation of masks and distancing still remains “to avoid gatherings”.

This is what the agreement between the Ministry of Health and the Regions provides. Health Minister Roberto Speranza said he was “satisfied” with the agreement: “There is the awareness that caution is still needed and gradualness “.

And the rest of Italy? Is there a possibility that it will return to the white zone by the end of June? The virologist of the State University of Milan Fabrizio I pray, at «Agorà» on Rai3, explains that there is a need for “attention and gradualness” in easing restrictions. “I don’t mind the idea of an “enhanced white”, because thanks to the “macroscopic and concrete” impact of vaccinations on the load of Covid-19 for the National Health Service, hospitalizations and intensive care, we can open up, but let’s do it with the utmost common sense and the greatest possible progression “. With the openings, and therefore with more opportunities for contact and movement, “we expect a certain increase in the number of positive cases. Not a wave, I hope, but a rising wave. But if we are dealing with trivial cases, in younger subjects, there will not be that fear that took us when the NHS had objective difficulties ».
