The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Itamaraty) reported on Friday (28) that it is following the case of the three Brazilians arrested in the act transporting almost 7 tons of drugs in a submarine .
The crime was released this week by the Judicial Police of Portugal, which intercepted the vessel in the Atlantic Ocean, about 500 nautical miles from southern Azores.
On board were five crew, including three men from Brazil, one Colombian and one Spaniard. The men transported 6.5 tons of cocaine.

Who were Brazilians?
- Maikon Reis da Silva, 38;
- Nelson from Easter Corrêa Costa, 61;
- José Mauro Gonçalves, 52 years old.

In a statement, Itamaraty reported that through the Consulate General of Brazil in Lisbon, it is aware of the case and provides the appropriate consular assistance to nationals and their families.
The operation called “Nautilus”, carried out in collaboration with Portuguese, Spanish, American and British authorities, identified that the final destination of narcotics were several countries of the Iberian Peninsula and Europe.
The investigation, conducted by PJ’s National Unit to Combat Trafficking Trafficking, continues in collaboration with other countries.
