The Itamaraty, according to ministry sources, is evaluating the possibility of supporting a draft humanitarian resolution on the war in Ukraine that was presented by Russia at the UN Security Council.
The proposal stems from a maneuver made by the Russians, who held a debate on the advancement of a humanitarian proposal made by France and Mexico. In the proposal of the French and Mexicans, in addition to the humanitarian aspects, it strongly condemned Russia for the attacks and deaths of civilians.
To try to prevent the proposal from being overturned, the Western bloc even articulated that it be appreciated by the UN General Assembly, but Russia ended up operating and presenting a new text in the Security Council.

Diplomats with whom the CNN talked to said that this is a peculiar situation since the beginning of the war. They will have in front of them a draft resolution with which they agree on the merits, but which have restrictions on its author, who invaded Ukraine.
This debate is expected to take place on Wednesday.
In the document prepared by Russian diplomats, there is, for example, a requirement that “civilians, including humanitarian workers and people in vulnerable situations, including women and children, are fully protected” and that “all interested parties ensure respect and protection of the entire medical and humanitarian task force exclusively engaged in its medical functions, its means of transport and equipment, hospitals and other medical facilities”.
