The Brazilian government learned, with great regret and consternation, of the death, in South Lebanon, of Brazilian teenager Mirna Raef Nasser, aged 16, born in Balneário Camboriú – Santa Catarina. According to family reports, the teenager and her father, a Lebanese national, were hit by aerial bombings at home on Monday, 9/23.
This is the second Brazilian victim hit by intense Israeli aerial bombings in the region. The Brazilian Embassy in Beirut is providing assistance to the teenager’s family.
In expressing its deepest condolences to the family, the Brazilian government reiterates its condemnation, in the strongest terms, of the continued Israeli air strikes against civilian areas in Lebanon and renews its appeal to the parties involved to immediately cease hostilities.
