Itamaraty monitors the incident with the president of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) reported that it is monitoring “the incident with the president of Iran”, Ebrahim Raisi, who was inside a helicopter that crashed during a forced landing this Sunday (19). So far, there is no information about the health status of the president, other passengers and crew.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is monitoring the incident with the president of Iran and is in contact with the embassy in Tehran, which, in turn, monitors the situation with the Iranian Foreign Ministry,” he stated in a note from Itamaraty.

This Sunday (19), a helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi crashed while visiting a region in northern Iran. So far, the country's emergency teams have not yet been able to reach the crash site due to weather conditions, the agency reported. Iranian state news agency IRNA.

Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian was also on board the aircraft.

Twenty rescue teams and drones were sent to the area where the helicopter crashed. The location is difficult to access and there is dense fog in the region, which makes the work of search teams difficult. It is unclear what the exact status of Raisi's helicopter is, Iran's state news agency reported.
