IPhone and iPad users started complaining about a nasty problem. Third-party apps stop working on Apple mobile devices such as iPhone and iPad after syncing with new Apple M1-based PCs and laptops.
Applications “crash” immediately after launch. As a result, the user cannot access the applications that he himself installed.
The problem first surfaced in December 2020, a month after new Mac sales began. In the support section on the Apple website, as well as the news social resource Reddit, there are quite a lot of similar complaints.
Users unanimously report that third-party apps installed from the App Store simply stop working on iPhone and iPad after syncing with Mac M1 using Finder. System applications do not suffer from such a problem at all, but third-party applications – all without exception.
Some users were able to restore applications after connecting their iPhone and syncing with an “old” Mac with macOS Catalina installed. Apple has not yet explained the oddities that are occurring and has not fixed this flaw.
In the fall of 2020, Apple released a line of computers based on its own ARM processor, the Apple M1. The first swallows were the MacBook Pro (review), MacBook Air (review) and Mac mini (review).
