Buckingham Palace issued, this Thursday (8), an official statement from King Charles III mourning the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
“The death of my beloved Mother, Her Majesty the Queen, is a moment of the greatest sadness for me and all my family members,” the note begins.
The statement by the new monarch of the United Kingdom states that he knows that the death of “his beloved mother will be felt throughout the country and throughout the Commonwealth, as well as by “innumerable people throughout the world”.
The King also says that this is a period of mourning in which the family will be comforted by the “respect and deep affection” that so many feel towards the monarch.
“During this time of mourning and change, my family and I will be comforted and sustained by our knowledge of the respect and deep affection in which the Queen was so widely held.”
