According to Counterpoint Research, Xiaomi has just toppled Samsung, becoming the world’s largest smartphone manufacturer by sales in June 2021. The company achieved such a result for the first time, although a few years ago they said that Xiaomi had already been “blown away”
The share of the Chinese company in June was 17.1%, while Samsung holds the second place with a result of 15.7%, and Apple occupies the third position and 14.3% of the global smartphone market. Counterpoint Research writes that Xiaomi showed 26% growth over the previous month.

The source adds that this situation was caused by supply constraints caused by the market situation in Vietnam. Samsung manufactures and ships most of its smartphones in this country. Counterpoint believes Samsung is likely to regain its leadership position once these issues are resolved.
Since Huawei began its decline, xiaomi has worked hard to fill the gap. The manufacturer has strengthened its presence in China, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. In June, Xiaomi was also helped by a drop in Samsung’s numbers due to supply constraints.
