It’s not just the duke: all about Bridgerton’s other men who made us fall in love

Now that many of us have finished watching the first season of Bridgerton we can also stop pretending we liked it for the compelling story, unexpected twists or costumes. What we love about the series created by Shonda Rhimes are the male leads.

In addition to Duke of Hastings, interpreted by Regè Jean Page and already rightfully become a sex symbol, the other actors, as well as their skill, also stand out for their immense charm.

Here are the ones we have our eyes on:

JONATHAN BAILEY/ANTHONY BRIDGERTON

The people online are divided equally between two factions: team Basset e team Bridgerton. Difficult to choose the winner, in this case. The actor who plays him, Jonathan Bailey, is a highly regarded and award-winning musical actor and has starred in other successful series such as Doctor Who e Jack Ryan. He came out early in his career also challenging many of his colleagues who told him that such a choice would ruin his chances of establishing himself as an actor. Indeed, it fights to change the representation that cinema makes of homosexual characters. “It would be extraordinary – he explained in an interview – if gay actors interpreted gay characters so they could all their experience on screen”. By the way, do you know what his first celebrity crush was? Prince Eric of The little Mermaid: «It was really my dream as a child». Super cute!

LUKE NEWTON/COLIN BRIDGERTON

Class of ’97, the actor is in his first important experience even though he has been working since he was very young. In fact, he has already collected a few roles in other TV series such as The Cut e The Lodge. The passion for acting – always present in his life – for some years has been combined with that for music: our Luke loves to sing and if you browse carefully on YouTube you will find more than a few videos in which he delights with some covers. I’ll spare you the effort and leave you this wonderful of Shallow:

Bad news, however, for all his fans: he is very engaged and in love with his girlfriend, Jade Louise Davies. She is also an actress and, according to their respective profiles Instagram they are quite inseparable.

LUKE THOMPSON/BENEDICT BRIDGERTON

We could never forget the third member of the family Bridgerton? Obviously not. To interpret it is Luke Thompson. The actor is quite shy and we see little on social media, but we still discovered something about him. In addition to having graduated with excellent grades from the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art of London, there is practically nothing he cannot do: he plays the piano, sings, is a skilled dancer, skilled fencer and is also good at drawing. Please Luke, leave some talent to others too! The rest shrouded in mystery: doesn’t that make it even more fascinating?

MARTINS IMHANGBE/WILL MONDRICH

I know you are an attentive audience, so you won’t have missed even the minor roles like that of Will Modrich, friend and confidant of the Duke of Hastings, interpreted by Martins Imhangbe. Having to play the part of a boxer, the actor followed a heavy training program, a fairly restrictive diet and thoroughly studied the history of Bill Richmond, the first British black sportsman to become famous. In fact, he is very proud of the role he has played, but above all of being part of a project that thus gives space to diversity. The series of Shonda Rhimes not only gave him an unexpected celebrity, but also a great friendship with Regè Jean Page: «The bromance between the two of us – he declared in an interview – is not only on the screen, it is real. I am proud to have him as a friend ». Adorable!

FREDDIE STROMA / PRINCE FEDERICO OF PRUSSIA

Last but not least, Freddie Stroma who plays the role of the prince Frederick of Prussia, the grandson of the queen. If despite her look, her face seemed familiar to you, that’s because it was Cormac McLaggen in three films by Harry Potter, Luke in Pitch Perfect, but most of all Adam Cromwell in UnREAL, set on which he met his wife, the actress Johanna Braddy. Don’t be fooled by his German accent in the series, the actor is 100% English, even if he didn’t pretend too much to get into the role: his mother is German and his father is Swedish (in fact his real name is Frederic Wilhelm CJ Sjöström, complicated right?). How do you say? Some loves make huge turns and then come back.
