J. K. Rowling: “Harry Potter” author secretly raised money to save 100 Afghan women from the Taliban

THE J. K. Rowlingauthor of “Harry Potter” secretly raised $1 million to enable 100 Afghan women to escape from the Taliban when the latter took power in Afghanistan.

As stated by dailymail.co.uksecured the money from the businessman and philanthropist lord michael hingeplus other large sums from other prominent figures and smaller donations from the public.

So, in a truly life-or-death operation, female lawyers and their families had to hide in basements before being smuggled to airports and flown to freedom.

The “Harry Potter” author’s generosity in saving people in 2021 only came to light on Thursday in a debate in the House of Lords.
