Jack Black cancels Tenacious D tour after comments on Trump attack

The actor Jack Black announced on Tuesday morning (16) that the tour of his comedy rock band, Tenacious D it is suspended. The cancellation came after his group partner, Kyle Gass, made a comment about the attempted assassination of the former president and current candidate for president of the United States, Donald Trump .

At a show by the band in Sydney on Sunday (14), Black presents Gass with a birthday cake on stage, telling him to “make a wish”. Gass responds: “Don’t miss Trump next time”.
After the speech, the band’s show in the city of Newcastle, Australia, which was scheduled to take place this Tuesday (16) was postponed. Now, Jack Black published a statement on social media completely canceling the tour, ongoing projects of the duo and repudiating political violence.

In a post on his Instagram, he said he would “never tolerate hate speech or encourage any form of political violence” and that the band’s activities are suspended.

“After much consideration, I no longer feel it is appropriate to continue the Tenacious D tour and all future creative plans are on hold,” he wrote.
