Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey announced that all the money raised from the sale of his first tweet will go to charity.
Last week, Dorsey put his first collectible token (NFT) tweet up for auction on the Valuables marketplace. It should end on March 21st. Currently, the maximum rate is $ 2.5 million.
This amount was offered to Dorsey by the CEO of the Bridge Oracle startup Sina Estavi from Malaysia. Tron founder Justin Sun also participated in the auction, but Estavi beat his $ 1 million bid.
Dorsey wrotethat after the end of the auction, the funds received will be immediately converted into bitcoins, and then sent through the Give Directly service to the Africa Response initiative. This fund helps people living in extreme poverty in East Africa.
Previously, the fast food chain Taco Bell issued its own non-fungible tokens on the Rarible platform. Images, GIFs and short video clips were released as tokens.
