James Bond is back in action: what to watch in theaters from October 7

Movie fans will be very pleased with what theaters have prepared for them at the start of October. From the 7th, viewers will be able to attend one of the most anticipated premieres of the last two years – No Time to Die, the last James Bond film starring Daniel Craig. Also in the movie you can watch the French comedy of the absurd with Lea Seydoux, Russian comedy and American horror.

No Time to Die

It’s been six years since the last James Bond movie was released! The last time such a break was from 1989 to 1995, when films about 007 did not perform well and the creators did not know for a long time how to continue the story in order to regain public interest. In addition, then they were looking for a new actor. The current Bond, Daniel Craig, did his job so well that he had to be persuaded to take part in No Time to Die. And the actor demanded that the script hooked him. In addition, the release date was, of course, influenced by the coronavirus pandemic. One way or another, but the twenty-fifth (and now definitely the last for Craig) Bond film finally reaches the audience.

The film tells how James Bond finally retired and went on a well-deserved retirement. Jamaica, sun, beach and clean air. But the five-year idyll is cut short when Bond receives a call from Felix Leitner, an old friend of the CIA. He asks the former agent 007 to save a very important and intelligent scientist from the hands of villains. Bond, of course, agrees to help, gets involved in a fight and gets trapped by a dangerous villain armed with a deadly biological weapon. A new agent, Nomi, will come to the aid of the hero. The main villain in No Time to Die is played by Rami Malek, and Bond’s successor is Lashana Lynch. In addition, Christoph Waltz, Rafe Fiennes, Jeffrey Wright and Lea Seydoux will return to their roles.

Superstar (France)

Lea Seydoux is one of the most popular French actresses of our time. This proves her hitting the theaters with two films at once: “No Time to Die” and “Superstar”. The second is a comedy of the absurd by Bruno Dumont (winner of five awards from the Cannes Film Festival). The director, who started with an outright art house (“29 Palms”), wants to conquer a completely different peak – wide distribution. The original title of the tape is translated as “France”. Lea Seydoux played the main role in it – the journalist Frans de Mer (France of the Dead).

Journalist Frans de Mer is filming hot spots. She is becoming so popular that she even allows herself to be rude to the president. France’s apartment looks like an expensive modern art gallery. She soon gets her own talk show on the country’s main channel. Her life is one continuous success. However, one day something breaks down in her stormy glamorous life. France begins to feel sad and cry right on the air, accidentally knocks down a motorcyclist, and so on. Depression unsettles the girl. She decides to head to a Swiss spa in search of privacy. But when the show business shark stops hunting, she herself becomes a tasty prey.

The Resort

The Resort is another small budget American horror film that exploits the theme of a haunted island. Of course, there are much fewer such films than horror films about abandoned houses, but even over the last year viewers could see at least three such films. One of the advantages of the “Resort” should be a small timing – one hour and fifteen minutes. After all, if the creators removed everything unnecessary, a good film could have turned out that would keep you in suspense, and not make you laugh, as is often the case with similar projects.

Young writer Lex is engaged in the study of the paranormal. She believes in their existence since childhood, and therefore seeks to find evidence of this. As a birthday present, Lex receives an unexpected gift from friends – a trip to an abandoned island resort, where, according to rumors, the most real ghosts have settled. All local residents bypass this place. However, Lex and her company are not afraid of anything. The girl is waiting for the long-awaited confirmation of her faith, and her friends do treat this with a great deal of skepticism. Who will be right?

“Perfect wife”

Russian comedies can be treated in different ways. Nevertheless, they often collect decent sums in domestic cinemas. “The Ideal Wife” is a comedy from director Andrei Grachev, famous for documentaries. Victoria Poltorak, Dmitry Belotserkovsky and Mikhail Politseimako starred. It remains to be hoped that the film will be light and funny, although in the trailer you can already catch the degree of vulgarity.

Everything is great with Katerina – an ideal husband who works as a philosophy teacher, an ideal friend who is ready to support in difficult times, ideal children, and so on. But one day the girl learns that much in this tale can be a lie. First, she finds a letter from which it is obvious that Max has a mistress. Then a friend blabbed that things could be even worse than Katherine had originally suggested. The girl begins her own investigation of what is happening behind her. However, what she digs out will definitely not be to her liking.
