James Earl Jones, iconic voice of Darth Vader in ‘Star Wars,’ dies at 93

Actor James Earl Jones, known for providing the iconic voice of Darth Vader in ‘Star Wars’ and many memorable performances, died on Monday (9), according to his agent Barry McPherson.

He was 93 years old.

Jones was also known for voicing the character Mufasa in the animated film “The Lion King” and being the official voice of CNN International.

The artist had a distinguished career that lasted around 60 years.

His career began in a small-town theater in northern Michigan and led him to the highest positions in Hollywood.

Jones has appeared in dozens of films and TV series. He also lent his voice to the slogan for CNN “This is CNN ,” (That’s it CNN in the free translation into Portuguese).
