Jamie Foxx, birthday with aggression: someone at the restaurant “threw a glass in his face, he needed stitches in his mouth”

The actor Jamie Foxx celebrated his fifty-seventh birthdaylast December 13, at the Mr. Chow restaurant in Beverly Hills. But, as CNN reveals, the celebrations ended badly. During dinner «someone from another table had them threw a glass in his face hitting him in the mouth. He needed stitches and is recovering. The police were called, the matter is now in the hands of the police.” This was explained to CNN by a spokesperson for the actor. The Beverly Hills Police Department for its part announced that it had received a call relating to “possible assault with a deadly weapon”. The officers who intervened verified the absence of any weapon and classified the incident as “a dispute between the parties”, without making any arrests to date. Foxx, a few hours after the accident, wrote on Instagram: «The devil is busy, but I’m too lucky to be stressed».

Only a few days ago the fifty-seven-year-old actor spoke in detail for the first time, in the Netflix special Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was…of the mysterious illness that had landed him in hospital last year: «I had a brain hemorrhage that caused a stroke», Jamie had said. Explaining that it was his sister Deidra Dixon to decide to take it to the Piedmont Hospitalwhere «those angels of the staff they saved my life and put back together.” During the emergency operation to which he was subjected, Foxx he saw “a light” and felt “strangely at peace». It was as if it were «in a tunnel“, where however “it was damn hot and I remember thinking ‘damn it, I’m going to the wrong place”, because I looked at the end of the tunnel and I thought I saw the devil telling me something like “Come!”».

Twenty days later the Oscar winner woke up in a wheelchair. «I was asking myself: “Why the hell am I in a wheelchair?”. The whole situation seemed like a f***ing joke to me.” The actor then continued physical rehabilitation in a specialized center Chicago and right in her room the eldest daughter Corinne and her husband Joseph “Joe” Hooten (who got married in September 2024) had celebrated their official engagement in the winter of 2023.

Then Jamie was back in public in December, a surprise guest of the Celebration of Cinema & Television from the Critics Choice Association. «It’s nice to be here and I’m enjoying it now every single moment. I wouldn’t wish what I went through on mine worst enemy», he said with visibly shining eyes, after being welcomed by one warm standing ovation. Already before, in July, the actor had explained in a live social media: «It was a trip to hell and back. I didn’t want anyone to see me with i pipes everywhere, while I was trying to figure out if I could do it. I want to be seen laughing, having fun, celebrating and joke». The other day, just as he was celebrating his fifty-seventh birthday, a new misadventure that dragged him back to hospital. This time because of someone who threw a glass in his face. Details of the accident are not yet known, but James’ spirit appears intact. As much as the “devil” has to do, he is “too lucky to feel stressed”.
