Actor Jamie Foxx says he is finally starting to feel like himself after being hospitalized in April following an undisclosed medical complication.
In a sequence of photos shared on his Instagram profile this Wednesday (16), the 55-year-old star thanked the best wishes and prayers.
“You are looking at a man who is grateful. Finally starting to feel like myself. It’s been an unexpected dark journey, but I can see the light. I am grateful to everyone who reached out and sent well wishes and prayers. I have many people to thank. You just don’t know how much that meant. I will thank everyone personally. And if you don’t know, God is good. All day, every day,” he wrote.
In addition to fans, friends and celebrities took the opportunity to show their support for the actor.
“God bless you my friend,” wrote actor Jeremy Renner, who was also hospitalized after being hit by a snow plow in January this year.
Businesswoman Tina Knowles, mother of singer Beyoncé, recalled how important he is to the entertainment world.
“I, along with the world, pray for you regularly. You are such a special man, a gift to the entertainment world. God bless you love mama Tina,” she commented.
“Yes, he is! I’m glad I’m better,” cheered actress Octavia Spencer.
Jamie Foxx Hospitalization
At the beginning of April, Foxx was hospitalized in Atlanta, in the United States, after suffering a “medical complication”, according to Corinne Foxx, the actor’s daughter. At the time, the actor was recording “Back in Action”, a feature that marks the return of Cameron Diaz to acting.
Despite the condition not being publicly clarified, Corinne announced that her father was under medical care.
“We wanted to share that my dad Jamie Foxx had a medical complication yesterday. Thankfully, due to quick action and great care, he is now on the mend,” she wrote. “We know how much he is loved and we appreciate his prayers. The family requests privacy during this time,” she added without elaborating.
In May, the actor spoke out for the first time since the incident, thanking him for the love he was receiving. Furthermore, he said he was feeling blessed.
In July, the actor published a video on his profile commenting on the series of speculations in the face of his hospitalization.
“I know a lot of people have been waiting or wanting news, but to be honest, I didn’t want you to see me like this. […] I want you to see me smiling, having fun, partying, telling jokes, making a movie, a television show. I didn’t want you guys to see me with tubes coming out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to survive,” she explained.
