Jamie Foxx speaks for the first time since his illness: “It was a trip to hell and back”

Jamie Foxx, 55, is recovering from an unspecified medical complication that occurred on April 11 last year while in Atlanta filming the film Back in Action. “I went through something I thought I’d never have to go through,” she said in the video, also adding that she knew many people were waiting for updates on her health. “To be honest with you, I didn’t want to see me like this, with pipes everywhere, trying to figure out if I’d make it. I want to be seen laughing, having fun, partying, joking, making a movie or a TV show,” he explained to fans. The actor then added that his sister Deidra Dixon and her daughter Corinne “saved my life”, and thanked God and the “great doctors” who took care of him.

Foxx first broke his silence with a message written on his Instagram on May 3 last year, in which he told fans, “Appreciate all the love!!! I feel blessed.”
When her daughter Corinne, 29, announced last April that her father was requiring medical intervention, she also explained that “thanks to the rapid action and great care,” Foxx was “on track for recovery.” A month later, Corinne herself gave another update on Foxx’s condition, denying rumors that the family was preparing for the worst and sharing on Instagram that the actor had been “out of the hospital for weeks” and was now recovering.

However, no specific mention has come even this time on the disease that Foxx had to face. Conversely, the actor he spent words of great applause for his family, who did not reveal anything and that in this sense he “protected” him, since “it’s what I hope everyone can have in moments like these”, he specified.
He also took a moment to dispel the rumors about his health: “Some people said I was blind, but as you can see…the eyes work fine. They said I’m paralysed, but I’m not paralysed. However, it was like going to hell and back,” Foxx explained. “Even my road to recovery had potholes in it. But I’m coming back. And I’m able to work.”
