Actress Jane Fonda, who turns 85 next Wednesday (21), said on Friday (16) that she received an early birthday present when her doctor told her her cancer was in remission.
Jane revealed in September that she was undergoing chemotherapy for what she said was a treatable form of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. She said she has now stopped chemotherapy.
“I am feeling so blessed, so fortunate. Thanks to all of you who prayed and sent good thoughts my way. I am confident that this contributed to the good news,” wrote the actress on Instagram.
She called it “the best birthday present ever”.
Jane Fonda has worked in film and television for more than six decades, winning Oscars for roles in 1971’s “Klute” and 1978’s “Breath Revenant.” This year, she starred in the comedy’s final season. Netflix’s “Grace and Frankie”.
Off-screen, she has championed various causes and is currently pushing for policies to curb climate change.
