Jane Goodall, an ecological Barbie for the chimpanzee scientist

The latest addition to the Barbie house is inspired by Jane Goodall, the 88-year-old English ethologist famous for her studies on chimpanzees. The Mattel doll, presented in the Inspiring Women collection, in collaboration with the Jane Goodall Instituteis made with recycled plastic.

The series is the one that pays homage to women who have been an inspiration to others and future generations. Jane Goodall joins the group of iconic women who have become fashion dolls like the poet Maya Angelou, Bebe Viothe painter Frida Khalotennis player Billie Jean King and First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt.

“Throughout my career I have tried to help children be curious and explore the world around them, just like I did when I first traveled to Tanzania 62 years ago. I’m thrilled to partner with Barbie and encourage little ones to learn from the environment and believe they can make a difference, ”said Jane Goodall.

“I hope to inspire the next generation of eco-leaders to join me in protecting our planet and remind them that they can be anything they want, anywhere: in the field, in the laboratory and in research, “he added.

The Barbie Jane Goodall is a CarbonNeutral product, certified by Climate Impact Partners. Some plastic parts are made of 90% plastic collected within 50 km of waterways. “We know that sustainability is a top priority for future generations,” explained Lisa McKnight, Executive Vice President and Global Head of Barbie and Dolls.
