Jane’s Addiction cancels tour after onstage brawl

Jane’s Addiction band of Perry Farrell creator of Lollapalooza, has canceled its reunion tour. The group informed fans of the decision via a statement on Instagram.

“To all of our fans, the band has made the difficult decision to take a break. As such, we will be canceling all remaining tour dates,” the post reads. The band’s profile also blocked comments.

The cancellation was reportedly due to a fight between guitarist Dave Navarro, 57, and Perry Farrell, 65, at a show last Friday (13) in Boston.

The band was playing the track “Ocean Size” when Farrel started to insult Navarro. Until the singer pushed his colleague and the two started exchanging insults. They were soon restrained by members of the crew.

It took four men to stop a fight on stage. The show was shut down.

Perry Farrell’s wife reveals reason for fight

Last Saturday (14), Etty Lau Farrell, Perry’s wife, revealed that the cause of the fight between the members would have been “tensions and animosity”. She explains that a conflict had been going on for some time about the volume of the instruments on stage.

“Perry’s frustration grew as night after night he felt the volume on stage was extremely loud and the band’s sound drowned out his voice,”

She explains that Perry could barely hear his own voice before he started swearing at his bandmate and “by the end of the song, I wasn’t singing, I was screaming just to be heard.”
