Janet Jackson 58, recalled in an interview with “British Vogue” about her performance for Queen Elizabeth, who died in 2022.
She says that at the time, she was performing “Rhythm Nation”, a song in partnership with her brother, Michael Jackson, and that at a certain point during the dance, her pants split in half.
“I was performing for the Queen of England and we were doing ‘Rhythm Nation,’” she recalled. “Sure enough, as soon as I bent over, my pants ripped right at my butt crack.”
“I couldn’t believe it happened,” Jackson said. “I was like, ‘Oh my God!’”
The singer explains that she had to adjust her pants in front of the Queen, and that she noticed the tear when she felt “air behind her”.
“So I focused on not turning my back to her. I just looked straight ahead.”
