They passed 51 minutes from when Janna Gommelt’s boyfriend called for help, until the ambulance took charge of the 25-year-old German, who died on January 20 in Porpoise. The first call was at 3:39 pm, and the woman was rescued at 4:30 pm, as shown by the emergency room report than the daily Republic could consult.
Janna died of a heart attack: more than 80 days after her death, the family received the autopsy report: death was sudden, and due to natural causes. Boyfriend Michael Douglas had supported him from the beginning: according to him, if the help had arrived earlier, Janna could have been saved.
When they finally took charge of the woman, the rescuers gave her three vials of adrenaline and two of cordarone, but her heart was no longer responding to attempts to revive him. Once the ambulance arrived at the hospital, the doctor on duty had nothing left to do but note the tourist’s death.

The Lazio Region published part of the call that Douglas made to the rescuers as soon as his girlfriend felt ill, and Ares declared that “the call was immediately geolocated”.
Nevertheless the ambulance did not come to the right place, and Ares accused Douglas of having “moved independently”, without giving reasons why the rescuers did not contact directly the person who had requested the intervention.
