Japan: A bear roamed central parts of Sapporo

A coffee bear terrorized the northern city of Sapporo Japan. The bear managed to injure four people, including a soldier, according to authorities, who announced on Friday that the bear had been “exterminated”.

In a video documentary released to the Japanese media, he shows the bear crossing the streets in a residential area and even on a busy street leading to the gates of a camp.

Asian black bears are found in large parts of Japan, while brown bears are found mainly in Hokkaido. The Japan Bear and Forest Society has warned that forest bears are found in greater numbers in areas inhabited by humans as they seek food.
