Japan Airlines reported on Thursday (26) that it was the target of a cyber attack, which could affect domestic and international flights.
The attack began at 7:24 a.m. local time and affected the company’s internal and external systems, according to a post published on X. The company said it temporarily shut down a router that was causing system failures and also suspended ticket sales for flights departing on Thursday.
A JAL spokesperson confirmed the attack but did not provide updates on possible delays or cancellations at this time.
ANA Holdings 9202.T , another major Japanese air carrier, recorded no signs of attack on its systems, a spokesman said.
