Secretary General of the Japanese Cabinet, Hirokazu Matsuno announced on Tuesday that the country bans exports of oil refinery equipment to Russia.
Previously, the Financial Times had reported that the European Union plans to reduce imports of Russian gas by two thirds in twelve months.
As reported by Bloomberg, citing two unnamed EU officials with knowledge of the matter:
“The plan, which will be presented on Tuesday, will propose measures such as tapping into new gas supplies and increasing energy efficiency as early as this year.“, said one of the officials, and “aims to achieve independence from the region’s largest fossil fuel supplier well before 2030earlier than previous projections”.
On the other hand in the UK, “The Prime Minister announced yesterday that the government was drawing up proposals to step up Britain’s energy self-sufficiency, boosting the deployment of renewable electricity and ‘using more of our own hydrocarbons’ in the North Seaaccording to the UK Times.
