Japan: Attack with knife and acid on train – At least 15 injured

One man is in critical condition and about 14 others have been injured since attack with a knife, flammable liquid and hydrochloric acid unleashed by a stranger inside wagon train in Japan, Kyodo news agency reported.

The suspect, about 20 years old, was arrested on the spot, the media reported.

The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a train carrying the Keio Railway to Shinjuku, the busiest train station in the world, at 8pm local time. many young people went to the city center to celebrate Halloween, at the very time when the ballot boxes closed after today’s parliamentary elections.

A video posted on Twitter and broadcast by NHK shows crowd of passengers trying to get out of the windows of the stationary train at a suburban station west of the capital and a few seconds later a small fire appears.

According to the same sources, some seats of the wagon caught fire.
