Japan considers sending coronavirus vaccines to Vietnam

THE Japan is considering sending doses of coronavirus vaccines to Vietnam, according to the Japanese public television network NHK, a day after Japan delivered more than one million doses of vaccines to Taiwan.

Vietnam, which had initially successfully dealt with its pandemic coronavirus, is now struggling to stem a new wave of cases and is trying to speed up the supply of COVID-19 vaccines.

Japan had received a request for vaccines from Vietnam and could send them as early as this month, the NHK added, without elaborating on which vaccines it could send to Vietnam.

Japan delivered 1.24 million doses of AstraZeneca PLC COVID-19 vaccine to Taiwan free of charge on Friday.
