Japan makes a stern protest to the Russian ambassador

Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsunodeclared on Tuesday that he “presented a severe protest to the Russian ambassador in Japan”, while adding that he told him that Japan must take “equivalent measures” after the arrest of the Japanese consul by Russia accused of espionage.
