Japanese man slept 30 minutes a day for 12 years and “doubled” his life expectancy

A Japanese man claims to have developed a technique where he slept just 30 minutes a day for 12 years, doubling his life expectancy. 40-year-old Daisuke Hori is from Hyogo, and 12 years ago he started training both his mind and body to sleep less to save time for other activities. He gradually reduced his sleeping hours and eventually got to the point of lying down for about half an hour, and in 2016 he founded the Japan Short Sleepers Training Association to teach other people.
