Shocking new evidence has come to light about Japan’s sick eugenics program after World War II, which remained in place for a full 48 years. The new data is revealed through an official report by the Japanese parliament. A total of 25,000 people were forcibly sterilized. Among them – at least – two nine-year-old children, a boy and a girl, who were sterilized in the early 60s and 70s, but also many more minors aged 14 or 16. About 70% of the cases involved women or girls. The Japanese state had given the right to local governments at the time to arbitrarily take a person to the operating room without any explanation, while some of the victims were falsely informed that they would undergo a routine operation, such as for appendicitis.
