The President of Argentina supported the use of bitcoins along with other units of account as part of a strategy to develop free competition in the local foreign exchange market.

Javier Milei declared that Argentines are free to choose the currency that best suits their needs. The Argentine President strongly supported Bitcoin, responding to a tweet by former VanEck Digital Asset Strategy Director Gabor Gurbacs, who said Bitcoin should be accessible to everyone.

There will be free competition between currencies in Argentina, so if citizens want to use Bitcoin, they will not have problems, the official assured. The same with, for example, futures for Texas WTI oil or trading British thermal units BTU. Javier Miley claims that he is ready to support the use of different currencies in Argentina, including Bitcoin, as long as it is convenient for business.
