JBS announced this Wednesday (21) that Jason Weller will be the company’s new global director of sustainability.
Weller joins JBS from Truterra, where he was president of the sustainability business.
At Truterra, the executive led efforts to help the company’s farmers participate in market opportunities for sustainable practices, as well as helping partners of consumer products companies achieve sustainability goals in the supply chain.
He has also served on bodies such as the USDA and the US House.
In a note, the Global CEO of JBS, Gilberto Tomazoni, highlighted the company’s commitment to become “net zero”.
“Jason Weller’s expertise in agricultural carbon markets and his passion for the vitality of the field qualify him to drive JBS forward, in line with our focus on combating climate change and achieving our ambitious sustainability goals,” said Tomazoni. .
