Jeannie Mai, 41, was suddenly sent to the hospital on the 2nd November, ending her run on the show ‘Dancing with the stars.’ As for now, she is hospitalized and has decided to prioritize her health.
Since Mai had to leave the show, only one contestant would be sent home on this week’s dancing with the star’s double elimination round.
According to the Mayo Clinic, Mai was hospitalized after she was diagnosed with epiglottis, a throat condition, which if not treated, can prove to be fatal. “My doctors discovered a health concern with my throat which requires immediate attention and surgery. I am heartbroken that my DWTS journey has to end here.” Mai said in a statement on Good morning America today.
According to a source, she had been feeling ill for several days, and with the ongoing pandemic, it was suspected that she might have caught the virus. However, upon testing, the results came out to be negative, the source shared with E news!
In spite of the fact that she didn’t practice yesterday, she was still willing to dance on the show. As indicated by the source, “It took them a minute to realize that she’d have to drop out entirely and not just miss tonight’s performance.”
