Jeep has officially unveiled the flagship SUV model, which debuted in two variants, the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. It is worth noting that the new models have the same body (there are no differences in size), and there is not a single mention of Jeep on it. Moreover, there is no mention of the company in the interior either – the flagship is conditionally a separate branch of SUVs. And the new items turned out to be larger than the Grand Cherokee L, while they are built on a frame structure and will compete with premium SUVs from other companies. For this, the cars were equipped with a lot of interesting innovations.
For example, the basic version of the Jeep Wagoneer at a cost of 58 thousand dollars acquired a decent-sized 10.3-inch screen, as well as a Uconnect 5 media system with touch control and its own 10.1-inch screen. In addition, even the basic equipment will delight the user with leather upholstery – it is not for nothing that the SUV was called premium. And under the hood of the novelty is a V8 5.7 petrol engine with a capacity of 397 horsepower, but in the “base” the SUV comes only with front-wheel drive – for the full one you will have to pay a little extra, choosing one of the many options.
An even more premium Jeep Grand Wagoneer in the base configuration already costs 87 thousand dollars – the manufacturer considers this SUV to be a competitor to the Cadillac Escalade, Lincoln Navigator and Lexus LX. However, due to the same bodywork, it will be extremely difficult to distinguish a more affordable model from an older brother. The main feature of the Grand-version in the expensive interior trim – wood veneer, aluminum, leather in a more premium design make it possible to get more driving pleasure. In addition, a more powerful V8 6.4 engine with 477 horsepower is installed here, and all-wheel drive is immediately provided in the “base”.
The Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer will appear in the US market by the end of spring 2021; the manufacturer has not yet announced the launch dates in other regions.
