Jeff Bezos’ ex-wife marries a science teacher

Two years after the farewell a Jeff Bezos, Mr. Amazon, MacKenzie Scott remarried. The lucky one is a science teacher from a Seattle private school: Dan Jewett. The announcement came through a post on the philanthropic organization’s website The Giving Pledge. MacKenzie Scott, who was married for 25 years and founded Amazon with her husband after separation, is the 22nd richest woman in the world. According to Forbes, he has an estimated $ 53 billion in assets including 4% of the company’s profits from divorce and group shares.

It was the new husband who wrote the post declaring that he was by his wife’s side in the humanitarian commitment that is realized in to devote half of its assets to philanthropic causes. The site The Giving Pledge was born on the initiative of Bill and Melinda Gates together with Warren Buffett and brings together the American billionaires who have said they are willing to donate 50% of their fortune to charity.

From The Giving Pledge website “It’s strange to write a letter expressing the will to give away most of my wealth in my life, I’ve never made a commitment to raise such a large fortune,” writes Jewett. And he adds: “I join the kindest and most caring person I know in this commitment, grateful for the exceptional privilege that will be that of collaborating in the donation of goods to do good ».

Last December alone, MacKenzie Scott donated over $ 4.1 billion to food banks and pandemic emergency funds. Also last year, he donated $ 1.7 billion for LGBTQ rights, racial equality, public health and climate change.

The new woman profile on the woman’s Amazon page now says she lives in Seattle with her four children and her husband who teaches science in the school attended by the boys. Bezos’ approval also came: “Dan is a great person, I’m happy and excited for them.”
