Jenna Ortega and Johnny Depp forced to deny the rumors about their relationship: “leave us alone”

The rumors started circulating when the DeuxMoi Instagram account, specialized in itchy celebrity gossiprecounted that Jenna Ortega and Johnny Depp were seen dating, in an appointment that perhaps took place during the making of «Beetlejuice 2», the highly anticipated sequel to Tim Burton’s 1980s cult horror comedy. In fact, the film is scheduled for autumn 2024 (it will be released on September 6 next year) but, despite the rumors circulated at first, there seems to be no trace of Johnny Depp in the official cast (which counts, among others , Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, the director’s new partner Monica Bellucci, Willem Dafoe and, of course, Jenna Ortega).

But the gossip that the public likes – and this was particularly greedy, also given the coincidence of the indirect presence of Winona Ryder, Johnny Depp’s historic ex – always travel at a higher speed than reality, and so the environment continued to insistently babbling about a liaison between the young and successful interpreter of “Wednesday” and the eternal Captain Jack Sparrowback from the most media-hyped trial for defamation between ex-spouses in history.

The insistence was such that, at a certain point, Jenna Ortega felt compelled to forcefully and angrily deny the rumors. “This is so ridiculous I can’t even laugh,” the young star wrote in an Instagram story. “I’ve never met or worked with Johnny Depp in my life. Please stop spreading lies and leave us alone.”

For its part, even Johnny Depp has taken a stand on the matterwith a statement from one of his spokespersons published by the English site NME: “Mr. Depp has no personal or professional relationship with Ms. Ortega. He has never met or spoken to her. He is not involved in any projects with her, nor does he intend to be. He is appalled by these unfounded and damaging rumors which are meant to damage his reputation and his career.” A rather peremptory denial, which does not hide a certain annoyance for a gossip evidently rained from heaven.
