Jennifer Aniston paid tribute, this Wednesday (15), to actor Matthew Perry, who died at the age of 54, with whom she starred in the series “Friends”. The character’s interpreter Rachel Green was one of the closest people to Matthew, among the entire cast, after helping him in the process of overcoming his addictions.
In a text published on social media along with a photo of them both smiling, she wrote what the grieving process for the loss of her friend has been like. The actress also shared a scene from the series between Chandler Bing and Rachel Green, also revealing an exchange of messages between them.
“Wow, that was profound…Having to say goodbye to our Matty was an insane wave of emotions that I have never experienced before. We all experience loss at some point in our lives. Loss of life or loss of love. Being able to truly experience this grief allows you to feel moments of joy and gratitude for having loved someone so deeply,” Jennifer began.
Coming to worry her friends after the actor’s death, she spoke about the family that was formed from the series, recorded for 10 years. “And we loved him deeply. It was part of our DNA. It was always the six of us. This was a chosen family that forever changed the course of who we were and what our path would be. For Matty, he knew he loved making people laugh. As he said, if he didn’t hear the ‘laughter’ he thought he was going to die. His life literally depended on it,” he continued.
The photo published to honor Matthew was sent by him to Jennifer, who showed the conversation. “Making you laugh just made my day. It made my day,” he said. “Own, the first of thousands of times”, replied the actress.
“And boy, did he manage to do just that. He made us all laugh. And laugh a lot. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been relaying our messages to each other. Laughing and crying and then laughing again. I will keep them forever and ever. I found a message he sent me out of the blue one day. That says it all.”, wrote Aniston.
At the end of the tribute, she called him “little brother”. “Matty, I love you so much and I know that you are now completely at peace and free from any pain. I talk to you every day… sometimes I can almost hear you saying, ‘Could you be any crazier? Rest little brother. You always made my day…”, she concluded.
The actor was found drowned in a jacuzzi at his home on October 28, in Los Angeles, United States.
