Since the near-fatal snow plow accident in early 2023, Jeremy Renner there has already been a significant improvement, but the actor said that the recovery phase doesn't seem to pass anymore .
“I had to accept that for the rest of my life. There will be nothing normal or like it was before the accident,” said Renner in an interview with People magazine..
“And by the way, I’m okay with that. It's making my life better. I’m healthier because of it,” he added. “I’m able to focus more on my health and well-being than ever before because I need to.”
“Recovery will continue until I leave this old mess that is my body. It was a way for me to really accept that this will be forever”, said the actor.
Renner said he changed his perspective on his own recovery after hearing the physical therapist's words to his mother. “I wasn't in the room. And he said what I didn't want him to say, something like, 'This is forever,'” he said.
On January 1, 2023, Renner's body was crushed while using a snow and ice removal machine. He was pulled under the vehicle while trying to apply the emergency brake and save his nephew from a collision.
The 53-year-old actor almost died. He spent two weeks hospitalized with very serious injuries, which included more than 30 broken bones.
